Origin Story
During the Spring and Autumn Period, Duke Huan of Qin was often untrustworthy. He made a covenant with Duke Li of Jin in Linghu, but after returning home, he broke his promise and incited the Di and Chu to attack Jin. He told the King of Chu: “Although I have been in and out with Jin, I only look at profit.” Duke Li of Jin was very angry and sent his minister Lü Xiang to break off relations with Qin. Soon after the severance of relations, war broke out. Duke Huan of Qin, for his own benefit, ignored his faith, ultimately leading to war between the two countries, bringing disaster to the people.
