Origin Story
In 1276 AD, after Wen Tianxiang, the prime minister of the Southern Song Dynasty, was captured by the Mongol army, he wrote a famous patriotic poem, "Passing Zero Ding Ocean". The poem reads: "The mountains and rivers are shattered like windblown fluff, and life floats and sinks like rain-beaten duckweed." This line of poem profoundly reflects the tragic reality of the loss of land and displacement of people in the Southern Song Dynasty, and also expresses the poet's strong patriotic feelings. The four characters "shattered mountains and rivers" vividly depict the tragic scene of the country's mountains and rivers being shattered and the land falling into the hands of invaders. The Mongol army invaded, and the Southern Song army retreated steadily, with large areas of land falling into the hands of the Mongol army, causing widespread displacement and destruction of homes, with people suffering greatly from the ravages of war. Wen Tianxiang witnessed this tragic scene firsthand, and his grief and indignation led him to write this poem to express his concern for the fate of the country and his deep sympathy for the people.
