村子里住着一位老农，他为人心直口快，有什么话都直接说出来，从不拐弯抹角。一天，村长来他家串门，老农热情地招待他，一边喝茶一边聊天。村长问起最近村里的收成，老农毫不犹豫地说："今年收成不好，庄稼都被虫子吃了不少！"村长脸色一沉，老农立刻意识到自己说错了话，赶紧解释道："我不是故意说坏话，只是实话实说！"村长叹了口气，说："你的心意我知道，不过有些话还是少说为妙啊！"老农点点头，表示理解。从此以后，老农虽然依旧心直口快，但学会了在说话之前先思考一下，避免再次得罪人。
In a small village lived an old farmer known for his straightforwardness. He always spoke his mind directly, never beating around the bush. One day, the village head visited his house. While they were drinking tea and chatting, the head asked about the recent harvest. The farmer said without hesitation, "This year's harvest was poor; many crops were eaten by insects!" The village head's face darkened. The farmer immediately realized his mistake and quickly explained, "I didn't mean to say bad things, but I just told the truth!" The village head sighed and said, "I know your intention, but it's better not to speak about some things." The farmer nodded, showing understanding. From that day on, although he remained straightforward, he learned to think before he spoke to avoid offending others again.
