Origin Story

It is said that once upon a time, Li Village and Zhao Village had a fierce dispute over an important irrigation canal. Villagers from both villages believed the canal belonged to them and refused to give in, almost coming to blows. At this time, a respected elder stepped in to mediate. He spoke earnestly, saying: "The canal does not belong to just one village, but to both, we should cooperate and grow together." The elder continued: "To avoid conflict, I suggest we share the canal. Zhao Village uses it for a year, then Li Village, and so on. Why not?" Villagers from both villages found this reasonable and agreed. Thus, the dispute was resolved, and the tense situation transformed into peaceful coexistence. The canal became a valuable asset shared by both villages and a symbol of their friendship.
