Origin Story
春秋时期，鲁国有个大臣犯了错，鲁哀公想严惩他，孔子劝谏道："过去的事就不要再追究了，关键是要吸取教训，避免以后再犯同样的错误。"于是，鲁哀公便不再追究大臣的过错，这便是"既往不咎"的由来。
During the Spring and Autumn period, a minister in the state of Lu made a mistake, and Duke Ai of Lu wanted to severely punish him. Confucius advised him, saying: "Don't pursue past matters. The key is to learn from the lessons and avoid making the same mistake again." Therefore, Duke Ai of Lu did not pursue the minister's wrongdoing, and this is the origin of "Ji wang bu jiu".
