很久以前，有一个猴王，它的手下有许多猴子，它们常常偷吃果子。猴王很生气，便抓来一只鸡，当着所有猴子的面，把鸡杀了。猴子们看到鸡的惨状，吓得不敢再偷吃了。从此以后，猴群再也没有发生偷吃果子的事情。

Long ago, there was a monkey king who had many monkeys under him. They often stole fruit. The monkey king was very angry and caught a chicken, killing it in front of all the monkeys. The monkeys, seeing the chicken's plight, were too scared to steal any more fruit. From then on, there were no more incidents of fruit stealing among the monkeys.
