He was so captivated by Confucius' teachings that he could hardly stop learning. Every time he left Confucius, Yan Hui would feel a sense of loss, longing to hear the master's teachings again and study Confucius' thoughts. He often devoted himself to reading Confucius' works, neglecting food and sleep. This thirst for knowledge propelled him forward on his academic journey, becoming a great Confucian scholar.
