从前，有个农夫辛勤耕作，盼望丰收。秋收时节，他满怀期待地来到田里，却发现收成并不理想，有些庄稼被虫蛀了，有些被风雨摧残了。他失望极了，不停地抱怨老天不公，认为自己付出了那么多努力，却得不到完美的回报。他把那些略有瑕疵的谷物挑出来，狠狠地扔在地上，嘴里还念叨着：“这些都不合格，我要最好的！”邻居看到这一幕，笑着劝他：“人哪有十全十美，庄稼哪能没有一点瑕疵？你这样求全责备，只会徒增烦恼，还是珍惜现有的收成吧！”农夫听了邻居的话，这才意识到自己的不对，开始珍惜手中现有的成果。
Once upon a time, there was a farmer who worked diligently, hoping for a bountiful harvest. During the harvest season, he came to the field with high expectations, but found the harvest far from ideal. Some crops were damaged by insects, others by wind and rain. He was extremely disappointed and kept complaining about the injustice of fate, believing that he had put in so much effort yet failed to receive a perfect reward. He picked out the slightly flawed grains and threw them on the ground angrily, muttering, “These aren’t good enough, I want the best!” A neighbor saw this and smiled, advising him, “No one is perfect, and no harvest is flawless. If you have such high demands, you will only increase your worries; cherish the existing harvest instead!” The farmer listened to his neighbor’s words and realized his mistake. He began to cherish the harvest he had.
