Legend has it that in ancient times, the Yellow Emperor ordered Ling Lun to collect five tones from nature and make musical instruments, among which the sound of Da Lü was the most loud and solemn. Once, the Yellow Emperor toured the world and came to a valley, where he heard beautiful music. This music was magnificent and vast, like the sound of a huge bell echoing in the valley, and also had the clear sound of Da Lü. The Yellow Emperor was overjoyed and praised the music as "Hong Zhong Da Lü", and made it a model for future generations.
