Origin Story
During the Eastern Jin Dynasty, there was a talented scholar named Wang Zhi. One day, while cutting wood in the mountains, he got lost. Deep in a peach orchard, he found two old men playing chess, attended by a boy serving wine and fruit. Wang Zhi curiously watched the game, forgetting the time. After the game ended, the two elders took their leave, and Wang Zhi also went down the mountain to return home. Unexpectedly, when he returned to the village, he found that everything in his hometown had changed. The houses were dilapidated, and no one recognized him. It turned out that he had been lost in a fairyland, and unknowingly, decades had passed. He, however, had not aged a day, remaining young in appearance. Looking back at the peach orchard, it had disappeared. Villagers said that Wang Zhi was taken away by immortals while cutting wood in the mountains. Because he had spent a long time in the fairyland, he still looked young and his temperament was different from ordinary people, so people called him "a heavenly being".
