Once upon a time, there was a greedy woodcutter who always tried to take shortcuts. One day, while chopping wood in the mountains, he discovered a tree laden with large, red fruits. He was overjoyed and quickly filled his bag with them. On his way down the mountain, he met an old monk who asked him where the fruits came from. The woodcutter proudly replied, "I found a fruit tree with huge, sweet fruits." The monk shook his head and sighed, saying, "The fruits of this tree are not easy to eat. They require careful nurturing to bear sweet fruit; your greed in taking so many will make you suffer the consequences." The woodcutter ignored him and continued on. The next day, he heard that someone had died from eating the poisoned fruits. Only then did the woodcutter understand the monk's words. He deeply regretted his actions but had to bear the painful consequences of his greed alone—a perfect example of "reaping what you sow".
