In a small town lived a beautiful girl named A Qiao. She was hardworking and kind, and was deeply loved by her neighbors. However, the village chief's wife, jealous of her beauty and kindness, secretly spread rumors, saying that A Qiao was having an affair with a man from another village, and fabricated many unsavory stories. For a time, rumors spread, and A Qiao's reputation was severely damaged. Villagers pointed at her and gossiped. A Qiao was heartbroken, silently bearing the unfounded charges. She tried to prove her innocence, but found that the rumors grew like weeds and could not be eradicated. Finally, with the help of an upright village elder, the truth came to light, the village chief's wife's vicious scheme was exposed, and A Qiao was cleared of her charges. This story tells us that rumors not only hurt others, but ultimately backfire.
