During the Tang Dynasty, there lived a scholar named Li Bai, who came from poor circumstances and often lacked adequate clothing and food in his youth. He loved books, but couldn't afford them, often only reading borrowed ones. Sometimes he didn't even have food and lived only on alms. But he never gave up his studies, and eventually became a great poet. Later, Li Bai was banished for offending those in power, and lived in poverty. Once, he wandered to a remote village where the villagers gave him food and clothing upon seeing his tattered condition. Deeply moved, he stayed in the village, teaching the villagers to read and write, and produced many poems that still survive today. Li Bai's story shows that despite poverty, one should hold on to their dreams and study hard to realize their worth. Although often lacking adequate clothing, his spirit and talent shone brightly.
