Origin Story
In the height of summer, a young farmer worked diligently in the field. The sun was high in the sky, and sweat soaked his clothes. To cool himself down, he simply unbuttoned his shirt and worked shirtless, harvesting golden rice with a sickle. An old scholar passing by frowned and sighed, “This farmer, so shirtless, what a disorder! Doesn’t he know, ‘If a man has no rites, is he not like an animal’?” The farmer wiped his sweat and said with a good-natured smile, “Master Scholar, on such a hot day, how can one work without cooling off? Should I die of heat in the field?” The old scholar was speechless and could only helplessly shake his head and leave. But the farmer continued to work shirtless until sunset, when he finished his harvesting work for the day.
