During the Later Qi Dynasty, there existed an unusual bond between the powerful Prime Minister Gao Yang and a subordinate official named Gao Dezheng. Gao Dezheng was renowned for his integrity and unwavering loyalty to Gao Yang. He dared to voice his opinions openly and honestly, and Gao Yang implicitly trusted him, readily following his advice. The two shared an intimate relationship, discussing matters without reservation. One day, Gao Yang was troubled and summoned Gao Dezheng. As they strolled in the garden, Gao Yang confided his worries to Gao Dezheng, ranging from matters of state to personal affairs, holding nothing back. Gao Dezheng listened attentively, offering sound advice that enlightened Gao Yang. Afterward, Gao Yang relied even more on Gao Dezheng, consulting him on state affairs, and together they helped guide the Later Qi Dynasty through a relatively stable and prosperous era.
