In the Qing Dynasty, there was a county magistrate named Mr. Zhang who was known for his integrity and loved by the people. However, his colleague, Mr. Li, was a corrupt official who often used his position to embezzle and take bribes, enriching himself. Once, to build his mansion, Mr. Li demanded a large sum of money from the wealthy businessman, Mr. Wang. Mr. Wang, having no choice, could only bribe Mr. Li. Eventually, the matter was exposed, and Mr. Li was severely punished by the court, dismissed from his post, and his property confiscated, while Mr. Zhang was rewarded and promoted for his integrity. This story warns against embezzlement and bribery and encourages being an honest and upright official.
