话说三国时期，蜀汉名将张飞，得知魏国名将马超前来挑战，便亲自率兵前往葭萌关迎战。张飞久闻马超武艺超群，心中暗自较劲。两人在关前展开激战，刀光剑影，杀声震天，可谓是旗鼓相当，难分伯仲。战斗持续了数个回合，仍是不分胜负，直到夜幕降临，才各自收兵。次日，双方再次交战，依然是不分胜负，最终以双方各自退兵而告终。此战之后，“不分胜负”便成为了人们形容双方实力相当，难以分出胜负的经典说法。
During the Three Kingdoms period, Zhang Fei, a famous general of Shu Han, heard that Ma Chao, a famous general of Wei, was coming to challenge him, so he personally led his troops to Jiameng Pass to meet the challenge. Zhang Fei had long heard of Ma Chao's superb martial arts and was secretly competing with him in his heart. The two launched a fierce battle in front of the pass. The light of swords and shadows, and the shouts of killing, were evenly matched, and it was hard to tell who was better. The battle lasted several rounds, still without a winner, until nightfall, when both sides retreated. The next day, the two sides fought again, still without a winner, and finally ended with both sides withdrawing their troops. After this battle, “no winner” became a classic expression to describe both sides being evenly matched and unable to determine the winner.
