Origin Story
The Tang Dynasty poet Du Fu wrote in his poem "Playing with Six Quatrains": "Wang Yang Lu Luo’s style at the time, frivolous writing is still laughed at. You and your name will perish together, the great rivers will flow forever." The poem laments that the frivolous works of the literati of that time will soon be forgotten, while truly excellent literary works will continue to flow like rivers and be passed down forever. This poem also became the source of the idiom "Bu Fei Jiang He." Legend has it that during the Great Yu flood control, he passed his home three times without entering, finally completing the great undertaking of flood control; his achievements will flow forever like rivers. Later, people used "Bu Fei Jiang He" to praise those eternally famous achievements.
