Origin Story

It is said that the Tang Dynasty poet Lu Lun once accompanied a friend surnamed Wei on a long journey. After several days, they reached a mountainous area. As dusk approached, it began to rain, so they sought shelter in a mountain temple. That night, the temple was quiet; only the sound of rain and wind could be heard. This quiet was soon broken, however. The next morning, they left the temple and continued their journey. On the way, they encountered a large caravan with many people and animals. Suddenly, it was a loud commotion of people shouting and horses neighing, a lively contrast to the quiet of the night before. Lu Lun sighed: Life is like the unpredictable weather in the mountains.
