Origin Story
It is said that in the water town of Jiangnan, there was a wealthy family named Shen. The young master Shen Yu was handsome and charming, but a useless and indolent young man. Every day he spent his time wandering in mountains and rivers, cockfighting and dog running, squandering his wealth, until the family’s wealth was almost ruined. His father, Mr. Shen, was furious and finally sold the family's property to send his son to an academy, hoping to change his habits. However, Shen Yu remained unchanged, associating with bad friends every day and indulging in sensual pleasures. Eventually, he ended up with a ruined family. This is a typical case of a useless young man who did not make progress, and finally reaped the bitter fruits of his own deeds.
