Once upon a time, there was an official named Li Gang who was diligent and loved the people, always putting the state first. One time, the imperial court needed to build an irrigation project that required taking farmland from the peasants. Li Gang knew this would affect their livelihoods, so he took on all the compensation costs himself and even donated his own savings to help the affected farmers rebuild their homes. Li Gang, without regard for personal gain or loss, worked wholeheartedly for the people, ultimately completing the irrigation project and benefiting the local population. His spirit of public service became a model for generations to come.
