During the Anti-Japanese War, a unit of the Eighth Route Army was blocking the Japanese army in the Taihang Mountains. The Japanese army was well-equipped and had fierce firepower, resulting in heavy casualties for the Eighth Route Army soldiers. However, under the leadership of platoon leader Zhang Dayong, the soldiers maintained their strong fighting spirit and charged into battle one after another. When the first row of soldiers fell, the second row immediately stepped up; when the second row sacrificed themselves, the third row immediately filled in. The battle lasted a whole day, and both sides suffered heavy losses. In the end, the Japanese army failed to break through the Eighth Route Army's defense line and was forced to withdraw. Platoon leader Zhang Dayong and many soldiers were killed in action, but their spirit will forever inspire future generations.
