Sing about the wind and moon
Explanation
Originally referred to works by literati that sing of wind and moon, now mostly used to describe works that are empty and boring, lacking in substance.
Origin Story
Li Bai, a Tang Dynasty poet, was famous for his romantic and unrestrained poetic style. He often roamed among mountains and rivers, reciting poems and feeling the beauty of nature. One day, he was boating on the Yangtze River. Witnessing the rushing water and magnificent mountains, he felt a surge of inspiration and composed a poem, singing the magnificent scenery of the mountains and rivers. However, after the poem was finished, Li Bai felt that the poem lacked some human touch and concern for the sufferings of the people, so he burned the manuscript and continued his journey. He understood that true poetry should not only sing of the wind and moon but also pay attention to the warmth of human life and reflect the joys and sorrows of the people.
