话说宋朝年间，朝廷为了加强中央集权，开始推行新政，不少地方官吏对此颇有微词，认为这会影响他们的利益。然而，随着新政的推行，社会秩序逐渐稳定，经济也得到发展，百姓生活有了改善。起初反对新政的官吏们也发现，这新政是大势所趋，与民心相符，便不再反对，转而支持。 有位老官员，起初坚决反对新政，他觉得新政会动摇他的地位，屡屡在朝堂之上上书反对，却总被皇帝驳回。后来，他观察到朝廷政策带来的变化，越来越多的民众受益于新政，他也逐渐意识到新政是民心所向，是历史发展的必然趋势。最终，这位老官员放下成见，支持新政，并成为新政的积极推动者。他感慨地说：“看来，这新政的确是大势所趋，人力不可阻挡啊！”
During the Song Dynasty, the imperial court implemented new policies to strengthen centralized power. Many local officials opposed these policies, arguing they would harm their interests. However, as the policies were implemented, social order stabilized, the economy grew, and people's lives improved. Initially, opposing officials realized that these policies were aligned with the public will and the natural course of history, so they stopped opposing them and instead supported them. One old official initially strongly opposed the new policies. He believed they would undermine his position and repeatedly submitted petitions of protest, but the emperor always rejected them. Later, observing the changes brought about by these policies and seeing how more and more people benefited, he gradually understood that the policies reflected the people's will and were an inevitable trend in historical development. Eventually, this old official abandoned his prejudices, supported the new policies, and became an active promoter of them. He sighed: “It seems these new policies are indeed the inevitable trend, unstoppable by human effort!”
