Origin Story

It is said that during the Tang Dynasty, there was a scholar named Li Bai who, from a young age, harbored great ambitions and longed to achieve success. He was well-versed in literature and had outstanding writing talent, but repeatedly failed the imperial examinations, leaving him frustrated. One day, while traveling in Chang'an, he happened to meet a fortune-teller. The fortune-teller, after a moment of divination, smiled and said, “Young man, you have a unique bone structure. In the future, a noble person will surely help you, your official career will be very successful, and you will rise rapidly!” Li Bai was somewhat skeptical, but he continued to study hard and practice his writing skills. Years later, thanks to his extraordinary talent, he gained the favor of Emperor Xuanzong and was summoned to the palace. From then on, he rose rapidly through the ranks, enjoying imperial favor and eventually becoming a Hanlin academician. Li Bai’s successful career was a perfect combination of hard work and opportunity. This story also illustrates that even with the "lucky break" of good fortune in one's career, personal effort is essential to seize and create opportunities.
