Origin Story
In the Qing Dynasty, there was a corrupt official named Mr. Li, who, in order to enrich himself, invented various excuses to collect money. He first established a "road construction and bridge building fee," then a "security fee," and then a "local development fund." These fees appeared endlessly, and the people suffered greatly. Mr. Li levied heavy taxes on the people every year, while his own pockets grew increasingly full. One day, an upright official took office and discovered Mr. Li's evil deeds. After investigation and evidence collection, he was brought to justice. Mr. Li was finally punished by law, and the people were finally freed from their heavy burden. This story tells us that inventing excuses and corruption will ultimately only harm oneself, while only honesty and truthfulness can gain the support and trust of the people.
