Origin Story

In his poem "Qu Jiang," the Tang Dynasty poet Du Fu wrote: 'Wine debts are common, life to seventy is rarely seen.' This expressed the ancients' feeling about a long life of seventy years. At that time, people's living conditions were difficult, and it was not easy to live to seventy, so seventy years old was regarded as a symbol of longevity. In the story, there was an old man named Mr. Zhang, who was over seventy, but still energetic. When he was young, he was a famous carpenter who had made exquisite furniture for many families in the local area. Now, although his skills are not as good as before, he still likes to stay in his carpentry workshop, playing with his tools, reminiscing about the past. One day, a young carpenter, Xiao Li, came to Mr. Zhang's workshop to ask him for advice on his skills. Mr. Zhang was happy to help, and patiently explained to Xiao Li various techniques, and shared his many years of experience. Xiao Li listened attentively, and benefited a lot. When Xiao Li was leaving, he said to Mr. Zhang: "You're over seventy, but you still love your work so much, it's really admirable!" Mr. Zhang smiled and said: "People should have pursuits, goals, and vitality in their lives. Even when old, one should live a wonderful life!" Mr. Zhang's story has become an inspirational story passed down in the village, encouraging the younger generation to work hard and make the most of their youth.
