古稀指七十岁，出自唐代诗人杜甫的《曲江二首》其二：“酒债寻常行处有，人生七十古来稀”。
Gu Xi refers to the age of seventy. It comes from the second of Du Fu's "Qu Jiang Er Shou", a Tang Dynasty poet: "Jiuzhai xunchang xing chu you, rensheng qishi gulai xi".

Du Fu, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, wrote in "Qu Jiang Er Shou": "Rensheng qishi gulai xi". This poem expresses the ancient people's understanding of life and reflects the social reality at that time that people's average life expectancy was short. The word "xi" in the poem means that there are not many people who are seventy years old, which is actually a lament for the shortness of life and the easy passage of time. Li Bai also once lamented "Rensheng deyi xu jin huan, mo shi jin zun kong dui yue". In ancient times, it was relatively rare to live to the age of seventy, so the age of seventy was given special significance. In that era with limited medical conditions and frequent wars, many people did not even live to adulthood.
