春秋时期，卫国与宋、陈等国联军攻打郑国。郑庄公为了离间卫国和陈国的联盟，派使者去陈国请求和好结盟。陈桓公轻视郑庄公，拒绝了结盟。郑庄公率军攻打陈国，大败陈军。陈桓公长期怙恶不悛，最终自食其果，国家也因此衰败。这个故事警示人们要及时悔改，否则会自取灭亡。 在另一个故事里，一个贪婪的官吏，多年来搜刮民脂民膏，鱼肉百姓，即使百姓怨声载道，他也怙恶不悛。他认为自己权势滔天，无人能奈何他，直到有一天，皇帝得知他的罪行，将他处以极刑，他的恶行才最终得到了惩罚。这个故事告诉我们，作恶多端，最终必将受到惩罚，无论你有多么强大的权力或多么狡猾的手段。
During the Spring and Autumn period, the state of Wei allied with Song and Chen to attack Zheng. To divide the alliance between Wei and Chen, Zheng Zhuanggong sent an envoy to Chen to request peace and an alliance. Chen Huanggong despised Zheng Zhuanggong and refused the alliance. Zheng Zhuanggong led his troops to attack Chen and defeated Chen's army. Chen Huanggong long persisted in his evil deeds and eventually reaped what he had sown, and his country also declined because of this. This story warns people to repent in time, otherwise they will destroy themselves. In another story, a greedy official, for many years, extorted the people and tyrannized the common people. Even when the people protested loudly, he remained unrepentant. He thought that his power was overwhelming and no one could do anything to him, until one day, the emperor learned of his crimes and executed him. His evil deeds were finally punished. This story tells us that those who do many evil deeds will eventually be punished, no matter how much power you have or how cunning your methods are.
