Day and night she longed for the emperor, but could only wait alone in her cold palace, for a chance that might never come. She had once been the center of attention, but now was neglected, like a forgotten jewel in a corner, her brilliance fading. This is the true portrayal of "being banished to the cold palace." It is not only the tragedy of concubines but also symbolizes the fate of anyone or anything neglected and overlooked, losing their luster and opportunities, waiting in silent loneliness for a chance that might never appear.
