Origin Story

In a remote mountain village, there lived an old carpenter named Lao Li. He had dedicated his entire life to his craft, making a living from it since his youth. Lao Li's house was built by his own hands, using high-quality lumber passed down from his ancestors. With careful craftsmanship and meticulous joining, the house was incredibly sturdy and durable. However, as time went by, this old house began to show its age. The roof tiles started to fall off, and cracks appeared in the wooden beams; it looked shaky and about to collapse. Villagers advised Lao Li to move to a newer, safer house to avoid accidents, but Lao Li stubbornly refused. He said, "This is the house I built with my life's work; every piece of wood is filled with my sweat; I can't bear to leave it." One day, a violent storm suddenly struck the mountain village. The wind howled, and the rain poured down. Lao Li's house, finally unable to withstand the ravages of the storm, suddenly collapsed. Fortunately, Lao Li had taken shelter in a village storm shelter before the storm hit, so he escaped unharmed. This incident made Lao Li realize that even the strongest things cannot withstand the relentless wear and tear of time, and especially not the test of nature. From then on, Lao Li finally agreed to move into a new house prepared for him by the village and enjoyed his old age in peace.
