Origin Story
Once upon a time, in a small mountain village, lived a highly respected village chief. He was a man of integrity and fairness, deeply loved by the villagers. One day, a dispute arose in the village: Old Li's sheep had wandered into Old Wang's vegetable patch and damaged many vegetables. Old Wang angrily went to Old Li, demanding compensation. Old Li, however, said that the sheep were unintentional and refused to compensate. The two argued without reaching a solution, so they both went to the village chief to complain. The chief carefully inquired about the incident, examined the damage to the vegetable patch, and understood the situation of both parties, ultimately making a fair ruling: Old Li should compensate Old Wang for part of the loss and guarantee that the sheep would not enter Old Wang's vegetable patch again. While neither Old Wang nor Old Li was entirely happy, both accepted the village chief's ruling because he was fair and impartial. From then on, no similar disputes ever arose in the village again.
