东汉时期，名将耿弇在南阳跟随光武帝刘秀起兵。刘秀曾评价耿弇说："将军你在南阳，制定了这个大计谋，我常以为很难成功，但你最终做到了，这正是有志者事竟成啊！"。耿弇跟随光武帝南征北战，屡立战功。有一次，他带领军队与敌军作战，身中一箭，但他依然坚持战斗，最终带领士兵们取得了胜利，这充分体现了只要有坚定的信念和不懈的努力，任何事情都能成功。在后来的战争中，耿弇的军队总是以少胜多，这都和他坚定的意志和顽强的毅力分不开的。他的成功故事，一直流传至今，激励着无数人不断追求梦想，并最终实现自己的目标。他的一生，也成为了有志者事竟成的最佳写照。
