He also went personally to the city to speak with some of the people to understand their living conditions and promised to help them rebuild their homes. His humility and concern won him the respect and admiration of the people. He did not become complacent after winning the war, but instead showed the generosity of a great leader, treating everyone with broad-mindedness. The general's troops, though they had achieved brilliant victories, always maintained their humility and won the respect of the people. On the other hand, troops who were arrogant and disrespectful all eventually met with defeat.
