北宋时期，著名的理学家杨时，放弃做官的机会，拜著名的理学大师程颢与程颐兄弟为师学习理学。一天，杨时去拜访程颐，见程颐正在休息，便恭恭敬敬地站在院外的雪地里等候程颐醒来，一直等到天黑雪深才离开。这件事被后人传为佳话，并成为了“程门立雪”的故事，比喻学生恭敬受教，尊师重道。
During the Northern Song Dynasty, Yang Shi, a famous Confucian scholar, gave up the opportunity to become an official and became a student of the famous Confucian masters Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi. One day, Yang Shi went to visit Cheng Yi, who was resting, and stood respectfully in the snow outside the courtyard, waiting for Cheng Yi to wake up. He stayed there until it was dark and the snow was deep. This story became a proverb, symbolizing the devotion and respect students have for their teachers.
