During the Northern Song Dynasty, Yang Shi, a famous Confucian scholar, gave up the opportunity to become an official and became a student of the famous Confucian masters Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi. One day, Yang Shi went to visit Cheng Yi, who was resting, and stood respectfully in the snow outside the courtyard, waiting for Cheng Yi to wake up.
