Origin Story

In the Tang Dynasty, there was a wealthy young man named Li Gongzi in Chang'an City. He was rich but also wayward, spending his days in teahouses and brothels, living a life of debauchery. He loved fine wine and food and was surrounded by many singers and dancers. Day and night they sang and danced, lost in pleasure, without a care for state affairs. One day, he drank with friends until dawn, then played with the singers, only returning home late at night. However, this life didn't bring him true happiness, but only left him physically and mentally exhausted. Eventually, he lost all his fortune and lived a sad life. This story warns that debauchery only brings fleeting pleasure, while lasting happiness comes from diligence and hard work.
