话说唐朝贞观年间，唐太宗李世民励精图治，国家太平盛世，百姓安居乐业。一日，李世民微服私访，来到一个村庄。他看到村里家家户户都种满了花草树木，村中道路干净整洁，一派欣欣向荣的景象。他问村长：“你们村子怎么这么干净整洁，百姓都这么勤劳呢？”村长回答说：“这都是因为我们村里一直以来都流行着一种好风气，那就是爱护环境，爱护家园。大家都自觉地保持环境卫生，互相帮助，共同建设我们的美好家园。以前，村里也曾有一些不好的现象，比如乱扔垃圾，破坏环境等等。但是，经过大家的共同努力，我们已经逐渐改变了这些坏习惯，形成了一种良好的风气。现在，爱护环境已经成了我们村里约定俗成的事情了。”李世民听了村长的话，十分高兴，并称赞这个村子是“模范村”。他回到皇宫后，下令在全国推广这种良好的风气，号召全国人民都要爱护环境，建设美好家园。从此以后，爱护环境、建设美好家园的良好风气在全国各地蔚然成风，使得大唐江山更加繁荣昌盛。
