话说三国时期，诸葛亮七擒孟获，平定南蛮。一次，诸葛亮率军深入南蛮腹地，遭遇了孟获的埋伏。孟获的军队人多势众，诸葛亮军队处于劣势，情况十分危急。面对此情此景，诸葛亮立刻下令全军撤退，将士们有序后撤，成功地避开了孟获的追击。事后，有人问诸葛亮为什么不与孟获决一死战，诸葛亮淡然一笑，说道：“兵法云：‘穷寇勿追’，此时此刻，走为上计，保存实力，方为长久之计。”
