Legend has it that an ancient village suffered a terrible plague. Villagers fell ill one after another, and the shadow of death hung over the entire village. In the dead of night, shrill cries often echoed through the village, sounding like the wailing of ghosts and the howling of demons. Hearing these sounds, the people were terrified, even more afraid of the plague spreading. Despairing cries reverberated through the valley, lingering long after. The aged village headman, with a heavy heart, led the surviving villagers to build an altar at the village entrance to pray for divine protection, hoping the plague would soon end. After the prayer ceremony, the village fell silent, only the wind whispering in the night, as if mourning the departed.
