话说很久以前,在一个古老的村庄里,住着一个名叫小明的年轻人。小明为人善良,心地纯洁,但是胆子却很小。一天晚上,小明独自一人走在回家的路上,这时,一阵阴风吹过,树叶沙沙作响,周围的一切都显得格外阴森恐怖。小明的心脏怦怦乱跳,他害怕极了,生怕有什么不干净的东西出现。突然,他听到身后传来一阵奇怪的声音,像是有什么东西在跟踪他。小明吓得魂飞胆破,拔腿就跑,一口气跑回了家,躲进被窝里瑟瑟发抖,直到天亮才敢出来。从此以后,小明再也不敢一个人晚上出门了,哪怕是去不远的地方,也要叫上小伙伴一起。

Xiaoming was scared out of his wits, and ran home at once, hiding under the covers and trembling until dawn before he dared to come out. From that day on, Xiaoming never dared to go out alone at night, even if it was just a short distance, he always took a friend with him.
