A hermit lived in a remote forest, cut off from the world and devoted to his meditation. One day, a county magistrate came to visit this far-famed hermit. With his attendants, he traversed mountains and rivers, finally arriving at the hermit's thatched hut. The magistrate knocked on the door, but there was no response. He knocked again, still silence.
