The old man and his granddaughter also faced the plight of food shortages. Every day, the granddaughter looked at the gray sky, praying that the rain god would have mercy. One morning, when the granddaughter looked up again, she was surprised to find that the gloomy sky had become bright, the dark clouds were quickly dissipating, and a golden sun was slowly rising from the east. “The clouds have parted, and the sun is rising!” the granddaughter cried happily. She knew that the drought was about to end and that they would finally be able to overcome their difficulties. The old man also smiled with relief, knowing that heaven had not abandoned them. Sure enough, at noon that day, the long-awaited rain finally fell, moisturizing the thirsty land. After the rain, everything revived, and the villagers regained their former vitality and vigor.
