During the Warring States period, Su Qin failed to persuade the six states to unite against Qin and returned home in disgrace. His wife and sister-in-law ridiculed and ignored him. Su Qin worked hard and eventually persuaded the feudal lords to form an alliance against Qin, and ultimately achieved success. When he returned home in triumph, those who had once despised him looked at him with fear and regret.
