Originally referring to the supreme status claimed by Shakyamuni, the founder of Buddhism. Now mostly used to describe extreme arrogance and the belief that only oneself is the most important.
Origin Story
很久以前，在古印度的迦毗罗卫国，净饭王与摩耶夫人诞下了一位皇子——悉达多。悉达多从小就展现出非凡的智慧和才能，但他并没有沉迷于王宫的奢华生活，反而对人生的苦难和痛苦产生了深刻的思考。29岁那年，他毅然舍弃王位，出家修行，寻求解脱之道。经过六年苦行，他终于在菩提树下顿悟成佛，自称天上天下，唯我独尊。这并非自负，而是他悟道后对宇宙人生的深刻理解和对自身觉悟的坚定信念。他创立佛教，教化众生，最终普度众生，走向涅槃。
Long ago, in the ancient Indian kingdom of Kapilavastu, King Shuddhodana and Queen Maya gave birth to a prince—Siddhartha. From a young age, Siddhartha showed extraordinary wisdom and talent. However, he was not engrossed in the luxurious life of the palace; instead, he had a profound reflection on the suffering and pain of life. At the age of 29, he decisively abandoned his throne, became a monk, and sought the path to liberation. After six years of ascetic practice, he finally attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree and proclaimed himself the only worthy one in heaven and earth. This was not arrogance, but a profound understanding of the universe and life after his enlightenment, and a firm belief in his own awakening. He founded Buddhism, taught sentient beings, and ultimately led all beings to enlightenment and Nirvana.
