Once upon a time, in a village, there lived a young carpenter named Li Cheng. He was skilled in his craft, and his wooden wares were loved by the villagers. However, Li Cheng had developed a bad habit of gambling and often lost all his savings. One day, blinded by his losses, he even stole the incense money from the village temple. When the incident was discovered, Li Cheng was reproached by the villagers. However, several other young men in the village began to emulate Li Cheng's wrongdoing. Initially, they only stole small items, but later, their actions became increasingly heinous, even resorting to robbery. The village's law and order deteriorated significantly as a result. This matter reached the county magistrate, who was furious and dispatched officers to arrest all the young men, punishing them severely without leniency. Li Cheng, bearing the most severe charges, was sentenced to a heavy punishment, and never dared to commit wrongdoing again.
