Origin Story
Long ago, in an ancient dynasty, the rulers, in order to satisfy their endless desires for luxury, imposed various exorbitant taxes and levies on the people. These taxes were not only heavy, but also numerous and varied, making it difficult for people to keep up. Some were levied according to the area of farmland, others according to the population, and some even according to the number of livestock. The standards for taxation were also extremely unreasonable, often changed arbitrarily according to the ruler's whims. The people toiled all year, only to have to hand over most of their harvest to the government, making their lives extremely difficult. Even worse, some greedy officials, in order to enrich themselves, arbitrarily increased taxes, even extorting and blackmailing the people, leading to widespread resentment and growing social conflict. The people, unable to bear it any longer, rose up in rebellion, eventually overthrowing the tyranny.
