Explanation
It means completely wrong, not at all like that.
Origin Story
During the Western Han Dynasty, Sima Qian was castrated for interceding for Li Ling. Filled with grief and anger, he wrote a letter to his friend Ren An, recounting his misfortune. He wrote, "I am neither wood nor stone, yet I must associate with the law enforcement officers." His unwavering loyalty had led to such cruel treatment – this was indeed a great mistake. He believed he had served the country faithfully, yet was unjustly accused, a great injustice. This is the origin of "dà miù bù rán," reflecting Sima Qian's deep frustration and helplessness, and serving as a warning against hasty judgements.
