Origin Story
During the Northern Qi Dynasty, Emperor Wenxuan, Gao Yang, once tested the abilities of his sons by giving each of them a pile of tangled threads and asked them to untangle them quickly. The eldest son tried to untangle the threads one by one, but ended up making a bigger mess. The second son tried to divide the threads into several parts, but the results were not ideal. Only the youngest son, Gao Yang, took a sharp knife and chopped the tangled threads into many short segments. Then he easily sorted them out. Gao Huan was very pleased with this result, because he knew only such a decisive person could take on great responsibilities. This story became the origin of the idiom "Kuai dao zhan luan ma", which means to solve complex problems quickly and decisively.
