In the Tang Dynasty, there was a poet named Li Bai, whose extraordinary talent made him famous all over the world. One day, he was invited to a banquet at the home of a powerful nobleman. The banquet hall was packed with guests; scholars, artists, and high-ranking officials gathered together, chatting and laughing merrily. Li Bai, full of inspiration, wrote several magnificent poems, winning the applause of everyone present. This banquet was unprecedented, a gathering of the most talented individuals, considered an example of a truly magnificent meeting, and a perfect illustration of "jǐ jǐ yī táng". Since then, this expression has been used to describe a gathering of many talented people.
