Origin Story
Yi Gong, the ruler of Wei, was an incompetent monarch who did not care about important state affairs but preferred to raise cranes. He even gave the cranes official positions and rewarded them with salaries, which caused resentment among the people. Later, the Di people invaded, and Yi Gong's army, due to low morale and lack of fighting spirit, was defeated. Yi Gong was eventually killed by the Di people. This story tells us that indulging in pleasure and lacking ambition will ultimately lead to losing one's ambition and harming oneself.
